James and the Giant Peach - May 02 - May 05, 2019

McAdory Middle School

 End Notes

As directors, we are extremely proud of this production. The quality of the talent amongst our students is outstanding! We have some wonderful comedic, singing, dancing, and general theatrical talent amongst our cast. It is humbling and exciting to be able to bring this heartwarming show to the stage with this group. This show truly highlights the strengths of these students and they shine!

A truly successful high school production will bring together a group of students in ways that no other extra-curricular activity will do. It requires a joint commitment, mutual respect, cooperation, and intense teamwork. It's emotionally draining, fulfilling, and overwhelming at the same time. Sometimes you wonder if things will begin to gel, but thankfully this group has been a solid unit since the beginning. They have each other's backs, build each other up, and treat each other like family. We are blessed with the material we were given to work with, but also with the darling students with whom we have spent countless hours working to make this incredible production.

James and the Giant Peach has a wonderful message that we hope will resonate with our audiences as much as it has with us. At its heart, it is a story about family. Finding family, becoming family, and accepting the flaws of your family. The journey to finding that connection and acceptance can be a bumpy ride.

From our family to yours, we hope that you enjoy this production and go home with a full and happy heart.

Sincerely,

A. Jordan DeWitt and Jennifer Guffin
