101 Dalmatians is an iconic chapter in animated feature films. We were very excited to take it on as a stage show with our summer camp this year. With incredible characters like sergeant tibbs, cruella, horace and jasper, and all of the adorable puppies, it was an opportunity that would be impossible to pass up. We had a lot of first timers in the cast as well as veterans to not only the theatre but our studios specifically. The whole cast became fast friends and that chemistry reads in their performance on stage. We have all worked incredibly hard on sets and props and costumes. We can't wait for you to see our production of 101 Dalmatians!

The first cartoon movie of 101 Dalmatians first came out in 1961. Almost 50 years later, the timeless themes of selfless love and the strong bond of family remain. While the show is also set in London, and many of the other dogs are from other parts of the world, including Scotties, Boxers, Poodles, and Chihuahuas, the kids got to work on their accents and get a bit of a taste for the British way of life. This cast has been curious, playful, and attentive: three key things I believe a team needs throughout the creative process. My biggest hope is that they learned most from their piers/theatre family, and that they go forward embracing life with a sense of adventure like the dogs of London.
