Puzzle Pieces - November 07

Mechanicsville

 End Notes

Welcome the the first production of the 2020-2021 Theatre Season for the No Name Players of Mechancisville High School.  We are excited to demonstrate our resillience and passionate persistence in keeping the arts alive during a pandemic.

While COVID-19 has derailed our traditional way of performing, we're excited to be pioneering new ways to bring you our same trademark quality entertainment right into your living rooms.

Puzzle Pieces, was not our first choice for our season, in fact our season looks NOTHING like what was originally intended.  We have had to go back to the drawing board multiple times due to CDC restrictions, rights and royalties restrictions and social distancing, but I believe this monologue based show is a great reminder that we all are part of a bigger puzzle and even though right now nothing seems to "fit", we can become a perfect fit just by sharing our stories.

I couldn't be prouder of the 9 brave "pioneers" (aka: students) who were willing to create the new performance/production model from the ground up.  These students have worked tirelessly to learn new technology and ways of performing without having their scene partners in the same room.  The tech team has had to transition from building costumes and moving scenery to learning to think like cinematographers and editors.  They have paved the way for future productions and I'm excited for you to see the fruit of their labor.

As we continue to work through the ramifications of COVID-19, especially on the entertainment and arts industries, I encourage you to support the arts by joining the drama boosters.  Your donations in addition to our ticket sales are what keeps our program going and will be what allows us to continue to survive in the coming years.

We also have a business partner program where your tax deductible donation garners you virtual advertising space to promote your business to our patrons which number into the 1,000s locally.

If you have interest in either of these programs, please contact the drama boosters at ldhsdramaboosters@gmail.com.

Special thanks to the boosters and parents of our show participants for their unwaivering support and for their encouragement.

Thanks also to you, the viewer, for joining us on this new adventure in performance.

Enjoy the show!

Mark your calendars for our December production of "Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus" coming to your living rooms December 11, at 7:00pm.
