A note from our director

Wowee wow wow! Welcome to Memorial Middle School Drama Club’s production of Junie B. Jones: The Musical! We hope you are ready for some fun for the entire family as we chronicle through the adventures and lessons first grade has to offer, with some singing and dancing too, of course. Although the musical is intended to be performed in one act, we will be breaking for intermission - you might want to get your hands on some of Mrs.Gutzman’s famous sugar cookies for a snack!

This show brought on a new challenge to our cast, thinking like a first grader! We had some wonderful experiences in characterization with our tiny friends from Schonely School. A big thank you to the teachers and students! We let our imaginations expand to help us bring the colors and characters from the pages of these beloved books to our stage. The humor, fun, and childish air of this show brought “such a wonderful feeling” to all who were involved in the process. I’ve never been so proud to see students who didn’t act their age!

This year we have brought in so many new young actors from sixth grade and they have truly blown us away with their work ethic and dedication to this show. We are so proud of the growth your students have shown through this process and have enjoyed supporting them as they build their understanding and appreciation for putting together a production! Thank you for all of your support in the process.

We hope this show brings a smile to your face and the warmth of a little nostalgia to your heart.

Enjoy!

Mrs. Brittany Cohen
