Jeff Powell
as Captain Orton
Jeff is excited to rejoin the company for his second show after having appeared as Herr Zeller in the Sound of Music. He is better known as pianist and conductor for the Dayton Opera Chorus, Muse Machine and Director of the Piano Magnet at Stivers School for the Arts. He got his start in music theater at the Barn Theater in Augusta MI. Before coming to Dayton, Maestro Powell served as the Assistant Conductor for the Lyric Opera of Kansas City and The Kansas City Symphony. He has conducted musicals there and at Wright State University, The Human Race Theater, Tecumseh High School and Stivers School for the Arts.

Violet Ervin
as Louis Leonowens
Violet is a rising eighth grader at Stivers School for the Arts. This is her second production after playing Jack in Into the Woods and her first production with MVSO! She is excited to play the role of Louis on the Arbogast stage and is thankful to all of the people who helped her prepare for the show. She hopes you enjoy the performance!

Sarah Viola
as Anna Leonowens
Sarah is thrilled to return to the MVSO with whom she most recently played Maria in The Sound of Music. She has performed opera and musical theater across America and Europe with such companies as Opera Santa Barbara, Eugene Opera, New York Lyric Opera, The Carnegie, Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, and Cincinnati Landmark Productions. Highlights include performing Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with the Vienna Philharmonic at Carnegie Hall, as well as West Side Story with the New York Philharmonic at Lincoln Center. Local performances at the Dayton Playhouse include My Fair Lady (Eliza) and The Man Of La Mancha (Aldonza). Sarah currently resides in Germany where she is artistic director of the Stuttgart Theatre Center which serves the US Armed Forces community in Europe. She is a proud military spouse to her wonderful husband, Lt. Col. Dave Wilson.
