Crazy for You - November 07 - November 10, 2013

 Director's Notes

“Crazy for You” contains “a show within a show” in the first scene.  You will see the conclusion of the final show of the Zangler Follies season from the 1930’s.  This could be a bit confusing since most of the action on our MLS stage is taking place backstage to your right and the Follies finale is taking place to your left.

This musical is the story of Bobby Child’s love for musical theater.  He is also a dreamer. There are several times during the show when Bobby goes into his own little dream world and starts singing despite the action going on around him.  This, too, could be a bit confusing at first without explanation.

We would also like to warn you that there will be gunshots in two of the scenes of the show.  Blanks are going to be fired and all safety precautions have been taken.  We just don’t want you to be alarmed by loud, unexpected noises!

A huge thank-you for attending our production today!  Your support of live theater is appreciated.  Without an audience our work is worthless.  Thanks for taking time out of busy schedules or to leave the comfort of your TV and remote to support the Court Street Players production of “Crazy for You.”

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the students in any aspect of the production for their hard and dedicated work to make this show a success in a “shorter-than-usual” time frame. Before we cast this show, only a small handful of our cast had formal dance training.  Eighteen of the thirty-four cast members are on the MLS stage as part of a show for the first time.  These statistics make the show even more amazing to me!

Finally, sit back and enjoy “Crazy for You.”
