Misfits Theatre

 Who's Who

  • Abigail Swintek head shot

    Abigail Swintek

    as Sara Crewe

Abby Swintek is an upcoming sophomore at Ohio University. She began at OU studying theater, but soon found herself undecided and searching for a future. She currently is hoping to have a career in education, but hopes to live in love and serve God in whatever path he has in store for her. She was a dedicated member of her drama club throughout high school, performing in numerous productions. Some of her favorite roles include "Maria" from "The Sound of Music", "Anne Sullivan" from "The Miracle Worker" and "Veta Simmons" from "Harvey". This is her first experience in a community theater production, and she's thankful for such a wonderful opportunity to perform onstage again, use the gifts given to her and work together with such a fun and unique group of people.

Tyler N. Thress (Captain Crewe), tenor, is pursuing degrees in music and anthropology at Ohio University, where he studied voice with the late Dr. Lisa Foerster. With OU’s Opera Theater program, Tyler has appeared as Major General Stanley (The Pirates of Penzance), Caldwell B. Cladwell (Urinetown), Bob (in excerpts from The Old Maid and the Thief), and as the narrator in a staged adaptation of J.S. Bach’s Coffee Cantata (BWV 211). As a member of the Genesis Theater Project, he has appeared as Captain Albert Lennox (The Secret Garden) and, more recently, Thomas Jefferson (1776). In concert, Tyler has appeared with the Parkersburg Choral Society as a soloist in Vivaldi’s Magnificat and Mozart’s Sparrow Mass (K 220), and recently gave a recital, An Eclectic Aesthetic, which featured both well-known and obscure music.
