The Wedding Singer - April 16 - April 19, 2021

Monmouth University

 Directors Note

In the past year, performance has looked a lot different than what it once was. The COVID-19 pandemic shattered the world with its impact and left no mercy when it came to the arts. By not being able to join together to perform or enjoy performances as an audience theatre today is nothing like we knew it before. Although difficult, MU Players has tried to foster that same sense of community that comes from live theatre in this virtual setting. We had to learn to adapt as artists, leaning much more into the art of filming and video editing and camera logistics rather than a set and lights. Everyone involved in this production has put forth their best effort to provide the most entertaining piece of theatre we could offer. This was no easy feat and came with plenty of challenges, but the end result is something that we hope you, the audience, can find some joy in. I want to thank the entire cast and crew for their hard work, as each and every one of you made this show happen; we could not have done it without each and every one of you. Thank you to the MU Players and Monmouth University community for your support as we navigate this unpredictable time in the world of theatre. I can not wait for the day where we are able to be on a stage in sit in a room and experience the magic of a live performance again, but until then, please enjoy our virtual production of The Wedding Singer!
