PAN! - April 25

Mooresville Graded Schools

 End Notes

What a difference a year makes! Being with MMS for a second year has been such an honor.  It is amazing to see how much the students have grown in just one year. PAN! was voted on by the students and it couldn't be a more appropriate play. Middle school is a time when we experience those same growing pains that Peter Pan must have felt. Though Peter inspires us to keep a child's heart, Wendy, the true teacher in this story reminds us of the importance of growing up, not running from the tick tock of the clock like Hook but to savor the moment, make good choices and celebrate getting older as a win.

In addition to rehearsing for the play, students were able to work on improvisation, theatre games, character study, backstage roles, Shakespeare and playwriting. We used our studies to help strengthen our own on stage and backstage roles. Collectively students were able to put together their skills and understanding of the material to present what you are about to see tonight. There are two theatre classes. Both are performing their own version of the play and both casts have worked really hard. Whether you're attending the first show, second show or both, we hope you enjoy!

Thank you to all the parents, staff and administrators for your support. I want to give a special thanks to Patrick Kosal, Ron Higdon, Alan Sledge, Tabitha Richardson, Kathleen Johnson, Joy Miller, the MMS Elective Team, MHS for hosting and you the families, friends and guradians of our cast and crew for all of your support! I would also like to give a special thanks to my family for always being willing to help behind the scenes.

Let your imagination fly!
