I am thrilled to present Grease to the Morris Catholic school community! This musical allows performers to laugh together and share in a production that creates lasting memories of their high school experience. It is a musical (and movie) that has been loved by so many people, and it has been a joy to bring this story to life.
This musical demands high energy and enthusiasm, and the performers and crew have exceeded all expectations. This musical has also helped reveal hidden talents among the students at Morris Catholic. Their dedication has made every rehearsal meaningful, productive, and hilarious. I'm not sure I've laughed more in my twelve years at Morris Catholic. Their passion and commitment to this program are why I am always confident to take on new challenges every performing season. I am so grateful to work with them and honored to be their teacher and director.
I would also like to thank the creative team and the parent volunteers who made this experience more collaborative. It is a powerful thing to feel that you are a part of a team, and this show would not have been possible without the time and talents of Kristen Hoyt and Kate McMurray. I am deeply grateful for the hard work of our parents, especially our construction volunteers, who have been working up until opening night.
I would also like to thank the Class of 2022. You have proven that you are so capable of anything. Your dedication will leave an indelible mark on the Performing Arts program at Morris Catholic. More importantly, you have also left an indelible impact on me and have given me the confidence to be a better teacher and director. Thank you for giving your whole hearts to this production of Grease, and for making it a musical that no one will forget.
