This section is dedicated to the many thespians who have performed for YAK and Mountain Page Theater. It all started at the Depot when a group of 30 kids showed up to see what the program was all about. With so many children, the group was moved to Corinne’s house, a former church. Practice took place in the Belfry. Next they moved to the library and had to rent the Party Place for plays, a building way to big to allow for projection of their voices. Then a miracle happened, Hilda Pace, a long time benefactor of the children, donated the us of a building in Mountain Page that had been used for a variety of social activities, even

voting. The building had to be renovated as it had been sitting vacant for several years. Thanks go to John Savage, Jim Beyer, David Berry, and Sam Woodberry for their hours of labor. The lights in the house rivaled those of big stage events. Technical coordinator Richard Rutherford, had been Technical Director for many shows in Los Angeles, including the Oscars. His friends were happy to donate professional lights to the little theater.The theater has grown to the point where there are two weekends of performances. You can now sit on a high top seat and order a charcuterie. The names of productions will be listed along with the names of actors being acknowledged by friends and family. Enjoy the show. A lot of heart and soul has gone into these productions. Without Corinne Gerwe’s determination and passion for a children’s theater, none of this would have happened.
