RENT - October 14 - October 16, 2022

Narwhals on Broadway

  Acknowledgements

This production only happened due to the work of a lot of very committed people.

First, I'd like to thank George Saad and Gilles Stromberg. George was very instrumental in the original preperation phase starting in last April when we started talking about putting on a show. Gilles started at TNS this past July and was thrown straight into the deep end! Immediately, they went to work on making this show happen and spent hours with me working through all of our different problems. I'd especially like to thank Gilles for working as our On-Site Coordinator for this event, meaning they were here every night this week until 10 PM. This show required a lot of prep, moreso than most events, and I appreciate them being there for us the whole way.

I'd also like to thank the Executive Board of the University Student Senate who not only funded our show, but fought for it and supported us to help make this show happen. I'd especially like to thank the Officers of Narwhals on Broadway. Isabel Criado, Jessica Hakim, Aiyana Greene, and Cassi Paguio. This past few months has been crazy, especially for them. They all have been working on RENT at the same time as running programs for 250+ members and planning for the upcoming semester

Our Events IT team at the New School has been extremely helpful in making this show happen. I'd like to thank Mark, Dorian, Michael, and Vlad for helping us get aquainted with the space and truly allowing it to be a student-ran production.

I want to thank my parents. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't have been introduced to theater and the arts. They've always supported me with everything that I've been doing, especially by beng a sounding board with this show.

This is the first of its kind at The New School. There has never been something this large that is 100% student-ran like this. So I'd like to thank the production team and cast. They are all extremely talented and so much fun to be around and I'm going to miss being around them all of the time and I look forward to working with them on the next one! I love every single one of these people. Getting to know them all over the past few months has been one of the best parts of this whole experience, and I hope that we all get to work together again and all remain a community of friends. I've never been in as fun a room as our rehearsals and am EXHILERATED to be with them every day of this process.

Thank you all for coming to the show, I hope you enjoy!

No Day But Today,

Spencer Sher
