We chose this play not only because it's a compelling story of friendship, loyalty, and resilence, but also for its raw and honest portrayal of youth violence -- a challenge that remains highly relevant today and in this community. In this production, we delve into the lives of young people grappling with a world where social divides, misunderstandings, and fear can feul conflict. By exploring these themes, I hope to open conversations about empathy, understanding, and the pressures that can push young people toward violence. Through The Outsiders, we witness the strength of human connection and the possibility of change, reminding us that undestanding and compassion are powerful tools against division and anger. This story holds a mirror up to society, challenging us to see how we can create a world where young people feel values, safe, and heard.
