Ella Check

as Laurey

Ella Check (Laurey) is on the stage for the 8th time with NHS Drama. She will attend college to major in neuroscience next year, and she plans to continue to sing. Her best drama memory is when the entire cast of Beauty and the Beast was able to perform together at the Civic Center. “It was such a magical experience, and we were able to show off our skills in front of thousands of people.” Ella advises underclassmen to have faith in themselves. She says, “Putting yourself out on the stage is such a vulnerable position, but know that you are worthy and capable. Continue to push yourself and try everything. You only have 4 years to be part of this incredible program, so make tons of friends and tons of memories because every moment counts.”
Melisa Garcia

as Aunt Eller

Melisa Garcia (Aunt Eller) is performing with NHS Drama for the 8th time. Next year, she will attend UNI to major in Spanish and minor in general music. She will always remember going to the Civic Center because it was such a big stage and was broadcast on TV. Melissa says to underclassmen, “Even if you don’t get the role you want your first year or any year after that, you still have a chance. Take it from me: from an unnamed adult in Bye Bye Birdie to Aunt Eller in Oklahoma!”
Travis Dodd

as Slim

Travis Dodd (Slim) is performing with NHS Drama for the 8th time, and next year he will go to UNI to become a vocal music teacher. His favorite memory is the time spent offstage building relationships with the guys. To underclassmen, Travis says go big because you can only be the best version of yourself you can be. Never get down when you get a small part--just have fun!
Joseph Dodson, II

as Jud Fry

Joseph Dodson (Jud Fry) is on the NHS stage for the 8th time and plans to go to Dakota State University for computer science. His favorite drama memory is performing at the Civic Center last year for Beauty and the Beast. He advises underclassmen to try as many extracurriculars as possible and to have fun through high school, as it will be over before you know it.
