From the Artistic Director

Two years ago, New Horizon Theatre consisted of a small stage, with 105 chairs on homemade risers, a large workroom filled with props, set pieces, costumes, and 30 years’ worth of "stuff." 

Thanks to the generous support of our patrons, you can see where we are now:a much larger auditorium, double the stage space, a dedicated costume workshop and storage area, office, board room, lobby, green room, and 218 brand-new seats.  You are the first audience to enjoy the new seating, provided by our generous community!

The plaques affixed to the arms of New Horizon Theatre’s new seats feature the names of cast and crew members, donors, foundations, patrons, and friends, many of whom have financially supported our $1.2 million expansion / renovation.  

For a gift of only $300, you can invest in this limited seat-naming opportunity. Your gift will become a permanent part of New Horizon’s history.  Donations can be made in honor or memory of a friend, loved one, or your favorite actor!  All contributions are tax-deductible.  Please see an usher for more details.

Between now and “Once Upon A December,” our new marquee is scheduled to be installed. 

Our next major expenditure will be to pay off our mortgage, hopefully by this time next year.  Then future plans include the addition of a fly loft, with curtains and rigging, and new sound and lighting fixtures.
