About the Northeast Florida Conservatory

The Northeast Florida Conservatory, founded by Richard Dickson in 2010, has more than 200 members and reaches thousands through the programs, concerts, classes and projects. With diverse backgrounds and occupations, they gather from throughout northeast Florida and volunteer their time and talents to make the Conservatory Community Band, Orchestra, Jazz Band and Theatre the successful organizations they are today.

The purpose of the Conservatory is threefold: 1) to provide opportunities for amateur musicians and actors to perform and grow artistically; 2) to enhance the quality of life in Northeast Florida and the surrounding areas and 3) to continue the Conservatory’s proud tradition as a community school of the arts.

A special philanthropic mission of outreach is the LAURA’S FRIENDS Project where the Conservatory brings, at no cost, music lessons to the disenfranchised in our community. Organizations benefitting from the Project – and your donations – are: DanielKids, Girls Inc., Children’s Home Society, Waverly School for Girls, KIPP, and public/private schools in lower socio-economic areas of the community where music, particularly in the lives of children, has been truncated or aborted.

The Northeast Florida Conservatory is a 501 (C)(3) non-profit organization offering music education and performance opportunities to all ages. Your donation is tax-deductible. Your gift to the Conservatory keeps the school operating with varied programs and classes in addition to providing scholarships and financial assistance.
