Prologue to the director's Bullets:
I have a hard time writing director's notes. I feel like they are rather cheesy in nature most of the time... Many directors have this brilliant and very irritating ability to make their cast cry with their powerful thoughts put into words like inky little tear drops of joy on the page. I don't have that ability. A few years ago I decided that rather than notes, I would make my "director's bullets" because after a show I feel like I've just been shot. So... I am going back to my roots. Here are my "Director's Bullets."
Director's Bullets:
- Joseph is Utah's favorite musical, and it is really fun to direct!
- This is the second time I have directed Joseph.
- There are a LOT of kids on that stage... It has been a challenge but also a lot of fun.
- Your kids are full of energy!
- Mr. S and the pit are amazing- Thanks to them for all their hard work!
- Mrs. Marden is the best darn Choir teacher this side of the Mississippi!
- I am very thankful to be here at Northridge where the community is so very supportive. Thank you very much to all the parents and other "helpers" who have come to my aid with Diet Dr. Pepper in hand... I really need to stop drinking that stuff before it kills me.
- I hope the kids learned a lot through the storytelling of Joseph, there are important life lessons there about family, forgiveness, and the choices we make in life, and how we react to the trials we face. I hope they can remember to keep their chins up when they are put through the hardest times in their lives. ( Sorry, That boardered on cheesy.)
- I hope you all enjoy the show as much as we have enjoyed putting it together! (And I hope you don't develop the nervous tick I contracted while working on it... :)
- I know... This show has the longest curtain call of all time... clap and enjoy it! The kids have worked hard!! -- Mrs. Coates
