Director's Notes
Harvey was a play on broadway over 75 years ago! Then jimmy Stuart made it a household word when he played Elwood in the famous movie. I have always been fascinated by this story, and the message behind it. There are so many wonderful lines in this play that have touched me personally. I hope you find some moments that will mean something to you too.
Elwood is different, and at the end of the show his family is faced with a choice: should they change him to be “normal” like everyone else? Or should they let him be his own unique self? It’s an important question for us all to ask.
My students are the cutest and they have worked so hard on this production. I need to thank them for their ability to work hard even when Mrs. Coates is super crazy and a crying mess because her boy is leaving the country soon. Thanks to all the people who have supported us in this show. PLEASE ENJOY THE SHOW!
