Theatre is the most collaborative art form in the world, because only when you have actors, dancers, singers, backstage technicians, painters, costumers, lighting folks, ushers, graphic designers, band members, and ultimately an audience… do you create this entire beautiful thing known as theater. Jumping aboard with the Northville drama family has been a very interesting and challenging, but ultimately very rewarding, experience. If Dr. Seuss taught us anything over the decades of his writing career, it is that the only thing that holds us back from creating a living, breathing world of our own is our imagination and our desire and drive to stretch ourselves beyond the scope of normal, think outside the box, get outside our comfort zone, and be willing to take the risk and see things through. These amazingly talented and motivated kids have been doing that through the recent years of director rollover. Most might shrink away from the challenges of a program whose only constant is change. But what you will see tonight is a prime example of how a young adult’s zest for living, and quest for excellence in both self and peers, can create a world beyond what others think is even attainable. So, sit back, enjoy the ride as we watch Horton, Gertrude, Jojo, The Cat, and all the rest celebrate that life, no matter how small, is worth preserving and that when it all comes down to it…anything’s possible! - Edmund R.
