Shrek The Musical - April 21 - April 30, 2023

Oak Hill High School

 End Notes

What an incredible year and cast this is.  After doing so many shows about revolution, war, death, hard things...we thought it was time to do something a little more lighthearted.  Comedy is hard after coming from serious theatre.  But these kids have truly brought out the best in themselves to put on an amazing show.

Something that truly struck me this year is how much this program has grown.  Thinking back to the days where it was just me and another school employee doing all during runs, I look now and see that I have an amazing team that sees the value in what we do, and helps fill in all of the gaps.  And I'm super appreciative.  Each and every one of the parents or community members that has offered time, money, support...it's overwhelming to think about, but you have no idea the impact you have made on these kids.  Thank you for supporting them.  Now onto some more specific thank-you's.

To my seniors...

Gunnar: It has been fun watching you grow.  I hope to see that you continue going on and making amazing art with music and theatre!

Bryan: It's hard to believe we are at the end of your HS time.  You've made incredible growth.  Thank you for allowing me to be a part of the journey.  I can't wait to see what you bring to IWU!

Emily: I have enjoyed laughing with you way too much.  I will miss your smile, your willing to lead, you turning red if I look at you, and the overall joy you bring.  Good luck unlocking those doors...

Wyatt: It's hard to believe you've only been doing this two years.  It has been amazing watching you grow.

Mera: I've watched you grow up in the shadows of your siblings, but today...YOU ARE A STAR.  I love that you do you, and I can't wait to see what you continue to do!

Blakely: You are a genius with hair/makeup/latex.  We are so so appreciative of you joining us backstage and giving us all of the support!

Hayden: I truly wish you would have joined us sooner.  It's so fun to watch you come fully alive on the stage.  I wish you nothing but the best.

Ella: To think, you used to have to sit on books in my classroom to reach the piano keys for lessons.  Now you're graduating.  Thank you for allowing me to be such a huge part of your life.

Andrew: No one gives face like you do.  Thank you for all the accents, facials, laughs, funny stories, and really for being an amazing human.  I'm so proud of you.

Ethan: Look at you now.  The kid who froze at his first audition in 2020, and now you are shining up the stage.  I'm so glad you found us, and I'm going to miss you lots.

Mary-Grace: Your smile, voice and dance ability will be very very missed on stage!  Thank you for being willing to do/try anything I asked, and staying with us since elementary!

Jasmin: I wish that you also found us sooner!  You are a joy.  I hope you realize how loved you are by everyone here!

Madison: I love that your brother gets to follow your legacy with theatre.  It's so fun to watch how much he adores you!  You will be very missed.

Ash: Girl, I am so glad you chose Oak Hill and have joined us the last year and a half.  It's like you have been here all along.  I'm excited to see what your future brings!
