My Dear 8th Grade Theater Stars,
As the curtain closes on your time here in the Oakland Middle School Musical Theaer, a bittersweet feeling washes over me. I am so incredibly proud of the journey we've taken together, and a little sad to see you all spread your wings and fly off to high school.
These past 2 to 3 years have been a whirlwind of laughter during rehearsals, nervous flutters before opening nights, and the pure joy of seeing you transform on stage. You've tackled lines with courage, learned to use your voices effectively, and built a remarkable sense of camaraderie that shone through in every performance.
But the magic of theater extends far beyond the stage. It's about pushing your boundaries, embracing vulnerability, and discovering new strengths within yourselves. You've learned to take risks, support each other, and celebrate one another's triumphs. These are valuable life skills that will serve you well far beyond the spotlight.
High school may bring a new stage, new challenges, and maybe even some stage fright. Embrace it all! Don't be afraid to audition for that musical you've always dreamt of. Remember, the confidence you've gained here will light your path.
Most importantly, never lose sight of the joy of storytelling. Keep that passion alive, whether it's on stage, in a classroom, or simply sharing a story with friends. The world needs your unique voice and the stories you have to tell.
I'll be cheering you on from the sidelines, and I have no doubt you'll all achieve great things. Break a leg, and remember, the stage is always waiting for your return.
With immense pride and affection
And MUCH LOVE,
Momma Spin
