Oakland Middle School

A letter to my BRILLIANT 8th Graders:

As the curtain closes on your final middle school production and you take your final bow here on OMS stage, I want you to know how incredibly proud I am of each and every one of you.

Over the past years, I’ve watched you grow—not just as performers, but as passionate, courageous, and creative young people. You’ve sung your hearts out, danced through the nerves, delivered lines (sometimes with great improv skills), and most importantly, you’ve supported each other like a true ensemble......no, like a true family.  That’s what makes theater magical. And that’s what made you unforgettable.

Now, you're heading into high school—a brand new stage, with new lights, new challenges, and so many new roles waiting to be played. I know it can be exciting, and maybe a little scary too. But remember this: you already have everything you need. The confidence to step forward, the empathy to connect with others, the resilience to keep going when things get tough, and the passion to chase your dreams, wherever they may lead on and off the stage.

High school will bring new auditions, new spotlights, and new opportunities to shine. Embrace them. Take risks. Keep growing. And never forget that your voice matters.

Even when the script changes or the spotlight feels too bright, trust yourself. The stage is yours. Take it.

Thank you for sharing your talents, your laughter, and your stories with me. I’ll miss seeing your energy light up our stage, but I can’t wait to see all the incredible things you’ll do next.

Remember, just because you are leaving me doesn't mean you cannot come back.  You are a SPINKID Forever!!!!!

LOVE YOU BIG

Mama Spin
