Aristocats KIDS is a summarized retelling of the original 1970 animated film. It was initially intended to run as a 2 part live action episode as part of the Wonderful World of Color conceptualized in 1961, but Disney recommended it be an animated feature after it went through two years of rewrites. Production on the animated version started in 1966, once The Jungle Book was released in 1967. It is the last film project that Disney personally approved prior to his death in December of 1966. Like all Disney movies over the years, The Aristocats will find a live-action adaptation soon, as it was announced in March of this year a remake would be developed.

I would like to extend my immense gratitude to the students on this stage crew, who have created and taught choreographed, assisted with vocals, and done all the hair and make-up. Without them, this show would not be what it is. Your contributions go unmatched. The show is only as special as the students allow.

Of course, a thank you to our Board of Education, our principal Mr. Mattina, and other district administrators, whose combined support of our arts programs allows our students to have high quality experiences in the performing arts.

Finally, a thank you to you, the grown up, parent, grandparent, relative, sibling, and friend of the student in this show sitting in the audience reading this. Without you, there is no show to perform, there is no audience to applaud. Your support of your student makes the magic of theater possible. I hope you exit this show a little more carefree to venture into new endeavors.
