Working - April 30 - May 09, 2021

Oldfields School

 Acknowledgements

Welcome to Working!

What a crazy roller coaster of a year. The fact that we were able to pull off a musical in this pandemic, speaks to the tenacity and strength of all involved. We choose Working, as our show, due to the fact that we thought we could perform it no matter what this year threw at us. We hoped for a live performance, but knew we could crush it on Zoom, if need be!

I have so many people I need to thank for helping with this performance. This is my very first year at Oldfields and I am very lucky to have found a team of people to help me navigate this first production.

First of all, I need to thank the Administration here at Oldfileds for being so supportive of the Arts. To encourage and facilitate this experience for the students here shows the true level of commitment this school has to providing a stellar experience for each student.

Thank you to the phenomenal Carrie Hammond, our choreographer! These songs don't lend themselves easily to the typical Broadway dance number and Ms. Hammond has found a way to bring each and every song to life!

Thank you to Drew Shelton for all of his Tech Expertise. You've led our crew through set building, painting, and sound effects with true aplomb.

A giant shout out to Mr. Jeremy Norris! Music Director extraordinaire! Your enthusiasm and energy are a gift to this school. Thank you for all of your hard work and patience.

Thank you to the Communications Department for getting the word out about the show and helping with the livestreaming process.

Thank you to the brilliant Atticus Boidy for teaching us how to glow and helping us design the lights!

Thank you to Facilities and Maintence for all of the help with furniture and keeping the theater and our whole school so beautiful.

Thank you to my cast and crew. You have worked so hard, dealt with so many curve balls, and have produced a stellar production. BRAVO!!! I adore each and every one of you.

To the parents, friends, and families of the cast and crew...thank you for your unending support and enthusiasm. I know it is frustrating to not be here in person to see your wonderful actor in person, bur we promise to do our best on the livestream and hopefully we will all be together next year.

Thanks to my friends and family for supporting me from afar...love you Alex!

We as a cast and crew would also like to thank the Covid 19 Reopening Task Force that has been operating at one hundered percent since last summer. The reason we were able to have an in-person school year, and this amazing musical, is due in large part to your incredible efforts. THANK YOU!

Working always strikes a poignant chord with an audience, but in this particular year, its message is more important that ever.

Dramatically Yours,

Shawn Rowley Wright
