Orange Park Community Theatre

 Notes

Director's Note

Michelle and I would like to welcome each of you to our 9th joint production, Disney's Freaky Friday, the Musical. We are so excited to share this extremely talented group of actors with you, we just know you will be fully entertained.

This enormously popular musical was first produced in 2016 and falls under the categories of Comedy, as well as Fairy Tale/Fantasy! The setting is contemporary and takes place in the suburbs of Chicago, one night in April. This large cast of 42 along with our phenomenal orchestra look forward to presenting a rocking combination of songs so catchy, you will find yourself singing them all the way home! This show will take you through a sensitive family moment extending into high school, weddings/marriage, stepparents, sisterly/brotherly love, misbehavior, truancy, rebellion, our first crush and a lot more to be packed in to a two-hour show. It moves pretty fast, so get ready!

We hope you will enjoy this show as much as we have in rehearsing and preparing the show for you. Please remember, we are all volunteers here, and the cast and crew are rewarded through your laughter and applause, so PLEASE, pay them generously today/tonight.

Be sure to check out the website at opct.info often to be aware of which shows are coming up, which auditions are around the corner, and when the next workshops will begin! Until then, thank you again for your continued patronage, and as always – we'll see you at the theatre!

William G. LeSeur Jr.
Sep 6. 1928 – May 8, 2022

We are very sad to relay to our theater family that we have lost a long-standing member of our OPCT family as Bill LeSeur passed away on May 8, 2022.

Bill graduated from Fordham University in New York City in 1950. Colonel LeSeur served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean and Vietnam wars, retiring after 26 years of decorated service. Bill worked for 8 years with the Indianapolis Speech and Hearing Center. He, and his first wife Marianne, moved to Florida in 1987 where they became active in our OPCT community.

Within Bill's first year with OPCT he performed in a show, assistant-directed a show, and directed his first show with the theater, Take a Number Darling. Bill acted in 13 shows including Alphie Dolittle in My Fair Lady and a Jury member with 12 of our favorite male performers in Twelve Angry Men. In addition to acting, Bill filled many other important roles for our theater. He served as President 4 years, Executive VP for 3 years, Board member for 4 years, directed 3 shows, produced 7 shows, worked on set production for 30 shows, and was on the Reservations team 4 years. In his recent years he has worked with his current wife, Patty on the Concessions Team. He and Patty worked together in 2019 with Vicki Lowe to bring to OPCT a wonderful production of One Foot in the Grave. With over 35 years with our theater, Bill will be sorely missed by all of us who have been influenced by his talent, enthusiasm and dedication to OPCT.
