Director's Note
Vicki and I would like to take this time to welcome you all to the opening production of our 53rd season, The Great American Trailer Park Musical. With the amount of talent, we have in this cast, we are thoroughly excited for you to be a part of this and see all the amazing hard work these cast members have brought. This show is full of energy, excitement, laughter, and the cast had so much fun putting it together.
The Great American Trailer Park Musical takes place in the heart of Starke, FL. It was first produced as an off-Broadway show back in 2005. The setting takes place in Armadillo Acres Trailer Park where we look at a love triangle between Jeannie, an agoraphobic who has been hiding away in a trailer for 20 years since the kidnapping of her son, Pippi, a run-away stripper, and Norbert a toll-booth collector. Gaining the narration through Betty who is the leasing manager of the trailer park, followed by Pickles who has hysterical pregnancies and Lin whose husband is in the state penitentiary sitting on death row. Storms begin to brew through this love triangle meanwhile Duke, Pippi's ex-boyfriend, tries to make his way back to Starke to find her, discovering some interesting twists in the end.
Our cast has been rehearsing over the last several weeks over the summer. We couldn't be prouder of all their hard work. We hope you enjoy this show as much as we have. Please laugh, cry, and take in all the wonderful comedy as we open this season with great entertainment.
