Director's Note
On a cold February evening in 1965 (yes, I am old.) My family sat down in the living room to watch a special event: a new production of Rodger’s and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. I remember the evening fondly, partly because of the homemade chocolate pudding that my mother “magically” produced (served in elegant glass parfait dishes) but mostly because of the entrancing melodies and high production values. It was, in retrospect, truly my first exposure to the quintessential American art form, the stage musical, an exposure that would translate into more than a quarter of a century of helping high school students follow their passion and bring such events to life. Producing Cinderella at this stage of my involvement with the OHS Drama Club feels very much like coming full circle, and I am supremely grateful to all who have chosen to share the magic of this moment with us.
