DIRECTOR'S NOTE
Nelson Bond’s adaptation of the great George Orwell’s Animal Farm is a satirical, political fable about a Dream-come-true descending into a Nightmare. This prescient exploration of “human nature” couldn’t possibly be any more relevant than it is today. Set in a “mythical barnyard far away,” we are invited to travel along with “The Animals” who live there and whose aspirations, ambitions, faults, and virtues mirror our own so closely that at times it’s difficult to distinguish those who walk on four legs from those who walk on two. This insightful, funny, frightening play winds its way on a journey through a world of subjugation, inspiration, liberation, exploitation, and eventually resignation. Animal Farm is a cautionary tale “As Old as Time” … and as relevant “As Tonight’s Evening News.” We invite you to sit back and enjoy our production of this classic tale that we’re sure is bound to resonate with a chilling new relevance today.
