Welcome to Ovations Theatre Company’s production of Mamma Mia!—our seventh full-scale production at Blair High School! Every show we produce is a labor of love, built on the dedication of our incredible students, and this one holds a particularly special place in my heart.

Mamma Mia! was one of the first musicals that made me fall in love with theatre. I remember being completely captivated by its infectious energy, heartfelt story, and the way music could bring people together. At its core, Mamma Mia! is about family—the ones we are born into and the ones we choose. This theme resonated deeply with me because, much like Sophie and Donna, my relationship with my own mom shaped so much of who I am. The love, the laughter, the struggles, and the joy woven into this story reflect moments in my own life, making this production incredibly personal.

Bringing this show to life in our unique outdoor performance space has been an adventure. Our students have poured their hearts into every note, every dance, and every scene, proving once again that theatre is not about the space but about the people who fill it with passion. With each show, we continue to push boundaries, grow as artists, and build something truly special together.

To my students: Thank you for your endless dedication, your willingness to take risks, and your belief in what we are creating. To our community: Thank you for being part of our journey and for cheering us on as we continue to build a theatre program that thrives on creativity and resilience.
