PLAYWRIGHT/DIRECTOR/ 'Shopkeeper' Leila: V. Lee was inspired to write Postcards From Hotel Cassiopeia when discovering the unique assemblage artist, Joseph Cornell (1903-72) as the inspiration for Charles Mee’s Hotel Cassiopeia. What began as a thesis project collaborative workshop in Ashland, OR evolved into this Play with Dance & Music and she is grateful for this opportunity to debut as a playwright in the STF in NYC. Vrenda has been involved in the performing arts throughout her life as actor, musical theatre choreographer, musician, who now primarily focuses on directing in order to pass on theatrical arts to “another generation”. Currently residing in So.OR, V. supports aspiring artists in every way she can. “...This will be the artist’s only job...because the great changes in the world, the changes of consciousness-the changes of our sense of life itself, will not come from the reasoned arguments, but from the visions of artists, not by arguing well but by speaking differently"
