DJ Matsko
Musical Director
is the music director of 87 Afterschool’s Rising Star and Shining Star classes and a co-teacher of the Intro to Keyboard and Broadway Now classes. He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Vocal Performance from West Chester University and Boston University respectively. DJ joined the 87 Afterschool team in the 2016-2017 school year for Rising Star’s production of Jungle Book and Shining Star’s Hello Dolly. Additional music directing credits include Seussical the Musical, Les Misérables, Hairspray, Guys & Dolls, and West Side Story. While at West Chester University, DJ music directed the 2013 Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS Benefit presented by the University Theater and Dance Department. Aside from music directing, DJ is a high school writing and literature teacher and continues to perform as a soloist and choral singer. He is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with such talented students and supportive families!
