Dr. Jason Powell
Producer / Musical Director (Vocals)
Dr. Powell is in his 15th year at PSHS (Director of Choral & Orchestras). He earned his BME in Music Education (classical guitar & percussion) from the U of Redlands in '07, his MA from Boston University in Music Education in '11, and his Doctorate in Edu. Justice & Leadership from the U of Redlands in '15. Jason remains an active musician in our community, performing w/ the Coachella Valley Symphony, the Festival Singers & in the Irish folk/rock band "Plastic Paddy's Midlife O'Crisis". He also performs in the yearly PSHS musicals (The Phantom of the Opera, Beauty & the Beast, Hairspray, Fiddler on the Roof, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, Bye Bye Birdie, Chicago, & Legally Blonde). In addition to these, Jason also teaches the Beginning Strings Conservatory classes for the Coachella Valley Symphony. He is also the recipient of several awards including Outstanding Teacher at PSHS ('12), an induction into the C.O.D. Hall of Fame as Alumni of the Year ('12).

Allyson Boylan
Director / Costume, Lighting, Prop, Sound Designer
This is Allyson’s 10th year at PSHS as theatre director for the PSHS Theatre Company (Troupe #6219) & is the Department Chair for the Performing Arts. She received her BA & MA in theatre from UCLA’s School of Theatre, Film, & Television. Allyson won a DTL award for Outstanding Director of a Youth Musical for Bye Bye Birdie (2018), Annie (2017), & Fiddler on the Roof (2015), & has been nominated for many other DTL awards including: Letters to Sala, Picnic, Cheaper by the Dozen, David & Lisa, Go Ask Alice, Rehearsal for Murder and You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown. She is currently an adjunct professor in theatre for COD and serves on their film school’s advisory board. Allyson has previously worked at Universal Motion Pictures casting and MTV Programming. She has performed both at CBU and UCLA as Lance the Lancer & as Joe & Josie Bruin. She has previously directed over 50 educational theatre productions.
