I must have read the Peter and the Starcatcher series by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson at least fifty times when I was in elementary school. As soon as I finished, I’d start over again. I was utterly charmed by the story, the characters, and the irreplicable feeling of bittersweet nostalgia that always comes with Peter Pan -based stories. In 2014, I dragged my dad with me to see the stage adaptation when it came to Los Angeles. I had only seen a small handful of plays at the grand age of fifteen, but Peter and the Starcatcher had captivated me entirely and it had become my new favorite play. A decade has passed and I’ve now seen many more plays, but Peter still remains my favorite.
Thank you to the PRT Board, my talented production staff, my friends, and special thank you to my family, who were an enormous help to me for many aspects of the show. Thank you to my wonderful cast, whose hard work and talent brought this show to life and made all my dreams come true.
Finally, this production is dedicated to the late Roger Rees, one of the original directors of the show, who helped create the magic you’ll see on stage today. This performance is also dedicated to my Dad, who has wanted me to direct since my very first show.
