A note from the Director.

I am an alumnus to the Palmerton School District, and it is my pleasure along with the rest of our directional staff to provide you the opportunity to see "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street - School Edition" live on our stage. 

When I was in Junior High school, I sat in Mr. Plechavy's Music class, one of the shows he presented to us was "Sweeney Todd", there were a few others that jumped out but that was the one I remembered. The haunting song of Johanna's reprise echoed in my mind as a grew up and by providence I had the opportunity to present it to our school.  It has been a long journey indeed.

As this is my maiden year with the Palmerton High School Drama club, I have seen the students work tirelessly to get to where they are in both "Anne of Green Gables' and this production, they have done me very proud and I have the utmost respect of their abilities.  I am the biggest fan and their supporter, and this goes the same for our dedicated crew who worked their fingers to the bone to get the set built, pull props and costumes and present to you the lights that brings our stage alive.

It is my pleasure as well to give a shout out and dedication to the late Stephen Sondheim in one if not the greatest of his works which has been an inspiration for many of young actors to push their limits with his complex and spirited work.

We at the Palmerton High School Drama Club and Stage Crew along with our staff hope you enjoy this show and look forward to bringing you continued works in the up-and-coming years!
