Legally Blonde The Musical - March 23 - April 01, 2017

Paloma Valley High School

 End Notes

I am extremely proud of this production. Our students have worked tirelessly to create a production that truly is fabulous. One of the joys of this production is the timeliness of the feminist story. While on the surface the story seems simplistic, the deeper discussion concerning the struggle of finding oneself resonates with a young audience. As we follow Elle we recognize that we are our most successful when we are our most authentic self. We are often more than we believe we are and we just need a few cheerleaders to help us find our way. I hope that my students have learned to be that support system for each other as well as theatre artists.

In March we celebrate Theatre in Our Schools month. The educational value of production is beyond measure. Theatre enhances “fluent and flexible thinking”., Not only do students involved in acting training have higher language and memory capacity (all those lines and song lyrics), they have improved ability to adapt to changing circumstances.Theater students are expected to solve problems quickly and efficiently; in front of an audience and at a moments notice. Students in theatre also understand the value of ensemble and of multiple people and personalities negotiating to create the best product.  These are marketable, life skills. Theatre asks them to not only focus on the work at hand but how it will be perceived in the larger world.  Theatre asks a lot of its student artists but it give so much back to them in memories and a safe space to take risks. ItYour patronage allows us to continue our work in in production. We thank you for being here and supporting yourPawformers.

I am so thankful to the Pawformer parents for their support, and am thankful to my parents for their support of me. I would also like to thank my husband who is my support system and never seems to mind the missing furniture during production. I would be lost without him. Finally, I  am appreciative to the Pawformers who are both my students and teachers. I get to come to work and create with enthusiastic, joyful, talented artists and I could not imagine doing anything else.  My senior pawformers will be especially missed.I can not wait to see  how you change the world.  Break a Leg and enjoy the Show!
