 ARTISTIC TEAM NOTES

Musical theatre has always been a passion of mine, and I feel very blessed to be back in the musical theatre program here at Monsignor Paul Dwyer working with such a talented cast and crew.

We are all thrilled to present Sister Act Jr. live and in person! I would like to start by thanking the cast and crew for the countless hours you spent – both inside and outside of class time – to put this amazing show together. Working with you each day and watching you support each other and grow as a musicians, actors and production crew was an incredible experience.

A huge thank you to Mr. Labriola with whom this show would not have been possible. Your passion for the arts and excitement for musical theatre is infectious. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our time together this semester and can’t wait to see what next year will bring!

Another thank you to Mr. Longauer who spent many hours and prep periods assisting the tech crew and working on production details for show. It’s all of the little details that make stage productions run smoothly and we are so grateful for the time you volunteered to support us.

To Mr. Drake for assisting us with the videography so that many of you can watch online. This is a huge undertaking and much appreciated by not only the cast and crew, but their families and extended families as well who may not be able to be here in person, but can still join us virtually.

Thank you to Taylor Hand, our choreographer for the show, of whom I am in awe every day. Her ability to create, design and teach choreography to students who have a range of experience is inspiring. She has been an exceptional leader, not only for the choreo team, but a leader to her peers as well. We can never repay you for the hours you spent working on this show, the many FlipGrid videos you made and lunches you gave up for rehearsal. Thank you for making the show such a huge success!

I would also like to thank former Dwyer musical theatre student, Jerico De Jesus for offering his time and talent to assist in teaching Lady in the Long Black Dress.

Last, but certainly not least, I would like to thank the administrators, teachers and administrative assistants for the support you have given all of us this year.

Sister Act Jr. is a show about transformation and character growth. It is full of action, comedy and even romance! My hope is that you enjoy the show as much as we enjoyed the process of getting it to the stage.
