NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR OF

PLACES IN FIVE

Get a group of theatre lovers together and it isn’t long before they start singing show tunes. In addition, almost every actor has the familiar nightmare of being thrown into a play and having no idea what our role is. These two themes form Places in Five, a short comedic piece that serves as a tribute to the love of all things theatrical. I have been delighted to see the cast meet each challenge that I’ve presented. They have exceeded my expectations and you should be very proud of them. They bring to life some of my favorite moments from the stage. I trust you will thoroughly enjoy the “nightmare” we are sharing. From the characters they have created to the moments they have worked on so diligently, I hope each cast member knows how much I value their contribution.

I am so grateful to be given the constant opportunity to work with these talented students. I want to extend my thanks to the Carters for their mentorship, trust, and support. I have loved every minute of my time with Dunbar Theatre and hope to continue working with them for years to come. I also want to extend my thanks to my family, who is always supportive of my crazy ambitious dreams. My favorite role is always and forever a mom to my son, Thomas, who’s quickly becoming the budding director himself. Thank you to the Carters, the cast, and the Dunbar Theatre community for accepting us both and giving us a place to play.

Now sit back and enjoy the mayhem that is PLACES IN FIVE.
