Peninsula Family Theater

 End Notes

FROM OUR MUSIC DIRECTOR...

Welcome to our summer production of "Les Miserables!" It has been a joy to work with so many talented members of our community during the rehearsal process these past few weeks. Our hope is that we can successfully transport you to 19th century France to experience the incredible emotional journey that is "Les Miserables." We also hope that the theme of the triumph of the human spirit will inspire you. Thank you for your generous support!

 FROM OUR DIRECTOR...

Back in 1996, my husband Jeff and I, along with our best friends, Pete and Christy Rutherford, formed Peninsula Family Theater as a way to produce theatrical productions that you could take your entire family to see.  We produced The Music Man, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat as well a a dozen or more summer theater workshops for kids.  Les Miserables addresses some very adult themes so I wondered how does the "Family" in Peninsula Family Theater fit?  The answer came quickly as I watched father/mothers and sons/daughters, brothers and sisters, husbands and wives, cousins, aunts, uncles and nieces and nephews "play" together on the stage and behind the scenes. This has become a true family production in the greater sense of the word!  It has been a remarkable experience as we have been able to laugh and cry together as we experience the creation of our show.  That being said, I would like to thank my wonderful husband for finding a way to produce this iconic musical and giving me the opportunity to direct and bring to life Les Miserables!
