Notes from the director:

When I first stepped into this district at the beginning of this school year, I immediately saw the immense potential of our students.  Dr. Gornto brought me into the theatre department, unbeknownst at the time, with the hope he could hand the reigns of the program over to me.  After watching what our students could do in Moon Over Buffalo, I knew this was a program I wanted to work with.  Immediately, Dr. Gornto and I reactivated the Thespian Troupe Chapter through the Educational Theatre Association and making a five-year plan.

We decided to try something different.  Most schools avoid a summer production; but we saw it as an opportunity to show the community, students, and administration we are ready to put in the work to make PJSHS drama THE theatre program of Miami County.  This show is the first time we are involving the Junior High Students and they will be our base as we grow this program over the next five years to one that every member of this community will be excited to brag about to anyone who will listen.  

While we are doing this, Dr. Gornto and I will need your help.  Parent volunteers are the lifeline of any youth program.  I watched these kids devote every ounce of their being to this show over the last four weeks.  Help us give them a program that keeps giving back to them.  If you can build, sew, paint, do makeup/hair, or any have any other talent, please reach out to us.  We can use you.

CrabCakes and Murder is a comedic murder mystery that takes place in a seaport-town.  You, as the "dinner guests," will help us solve the murder of Captain Savage Raines.  You will find the clues at the end of your playbill.  I do hope you enjoy tonight's performance.  We look forward to having you back for our 2023-2024 season.
