Director's Note

The reality is that this year has been full of anxiety, division, disappointment, and anticipation. It has been a harsh reality most of the time, and one that we have all had to get accustomed to quickly.  At the beginning of the year, I couldn’t imagine what this process of putting on a show during a pandemic would look like. We faced a number of challenges, and at times it looked like we might not make it to opening night, but the students never faltered. When all odds seemed against us, they showed up with a smile on their faces, and enjoyed every day they got to be making their art.  The result of their dedication and resilience is the magical creation you are about to see.

For the past three months, we have been working to transform this reality into a magical world. The message of the show is one that is especially important in the time that we are living in right now. It is a message of the importance of friendship and finding your place in life even at the hardest of times. Harry Potter fans will recognize some familiar characters, and get to know and love some new ones. These incredibly talented students have used a different kind of magic to bring these characters to life and make this show their own.

Tonight, I invite you to escape reality and enter a world of magic, just as we have been doing since September. In the next “110ish minutes”, you will begin to see the positives that I have seen and the reality may not seem as grim. Join us in finding your inner “Puff” and you will see nothing but magic in everything.

Enjoy the show,

Mrs. Liz  Mykytyn
