White Christmas - November 16 - November 18, 2023

Plainfield High School

 End Notes

Director's Note

First and most importantly I feel compelled to point out once again that putting a show together of this magnitude is a daunting task and although , artistically , my fingerprints touch every aspect of this production, I could not do it without my fantastic team. So, I want to express my heart felt gratitude to Amy Western, Cheryl and Becky Astroski, Wayne Mehl, Micheal Hummel, our talented cast and all of our student crews and adult helpers, but especially to Emily Astroski... the BEST Technical director in the world!!

"White Christmas" is well known and beloved by so many people. You ask, "Why"? Well, I think for a number of reasons. I mean, who doesn't love Christmas? We are all "suckers" for a good love story born out of tension and a few misunderstandings. The Iring Berlin Score is both beautiful and fun...and we all wait for those big dance numbers! But I think we also love it because this story reminds us of how fortunate and blessed we are to be living in a free country. The General Waverly story line reminds us of all the men and women in uniform who have gave so much in WW2 to protect and preserve our rights and our freedoms. I hope that it also will encourage us to be grateful and to take personal responsibility to maintain peace, and to love our "fellow man" when at all possible.

Thank you for coming...now enjoy!!
