Notes from the director: Hi everyone! This is Sydney, or Sanya as some may know me. I’m so glad you decided to come and see Dracula! This show is my directorial debut and I am overjoyed at the work my cast and crew have done in order to make this show a reality. This experience has allowed me to learn much about the process, and I’m so glad I was able to direct this year. Watch out for me in the future, because I’m 100% sure I’m going to direct even more in the future!
First, I’d like to thank my family for supporting me through this process and dealing with my less-than consistent schedule. Thank you for listening to my rambles and rants about this show and all my weird ideas. I love you all very much, more than anything thank you for supporting my silly little dream!
I’d also like to thank my friends, Zoey, Vale, Kylie, Simon, Wisp, Abby, and Elise! Vale, for making the amazing playbill cover (isn’t it so cool?) Zoey, for inspiring me to do Dracula in the first place (She likes vampires). Kylie and Wisp, for just being my friends and supporting me during the process (You guys are awesome!). And Simon, Elise, and Abby for guest-directing and helping my actors find their footing in difficult scenes. (They are masters of their craft!) You all inspire me to continue working hard every single day!
I’d like to thank my theatre class, Mr. Wheeler, and Mrs. G. Mr. Wheeler gave me this opportunity and Mrs. G helped me make my ideas reality. My theatre class, which is full of amazing and talented actors, have supported me since the beginning and I am delighted to be able to give you all a great show.
To my cast: You all are extremely talented, and I’ve been so happy to see you all grow over this process. You all have individually grown and learned so much and I can only hope that you feel that this experience has been worthwhile. I’m so happy I was able to give you all a chance to shine and have fun on stage. Thank you for making Dracula rehearsals a fun and loving environment which I was always delighted to be part of. You are all amazing, wonderful people.
To my crew: You all did so much work for me and I will always be grateful for it. I’m sure it was more than frustrating to work with someone who knew next to nothing about tech, but you all allowed me to learn so much. Thank you for supporting my ideas, even the wacky ones. Your support throughout this process was everything to me. Thank you!
Once again, thank you for coming to see Dracula! I sincerely hope you enjoy the production!
