Playwrights Showcase - June 13 - June 15, 2014

Players Guild of Leonia

 Who's Who

  • Frank McDonnell

    as Cornel ("I What?")

Frank appeared in last year’s I Love You. . . and in the Playwrights Showcase. He appeared locally in 1776, Anything Goes, Most Happy Fella, Urinetown, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, twice as Otto Frank in The Diary of Anne Frank and as the padre in Man of LaMancha. He dedicates this performance to his wife Ann; Meaghan, Caroline and Mike, and DJ; and to the memory of his voice teacher, Margaret Leary.

  • Rowena Wangenheim

    as Annie ("I What?")

Rowena, a long-time member, received the Perry award for leading actress in a play for The Trip to Bountiful. Recent roles include Enchanted April, Moon Over Buffalo, Over the River and Through the Woods and, happily, in every Playwrights Showcase. She directed Blithe Spirit and Ancestral Voices. For the record, her first role with Guild was the girl in The Seven Year Itch...just count the years!

  • Chris Caira

as Max ("Nice to Meet You")

Chris is making his Guild acting debut, but he joined the Guild family as assistant director and stage manager for our Durang shows in March-April. He enjoyed the chance to learn a new aspect of theater, and now is learning more about acting. A graduate of Rowan University, he has enjoyed working with all casts and crews, and thanks the Players Guild for welcoming him.

  • Irene Hort

as Sophia ("Nice to Meet You")

Irene is a student at Rutgers University where she's studying to become a teacher. Favorite roles at the Guild include various characters in last fall's I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, the novice nun in The Answer, Ashbee Williams in Am I Blue?, and Babe the Blue Ox in The Paul Bunyan Show. A big "thank you" to everyone in the audience for supporting the Guild, and to the cast and crew.

  • Clark Kim

as Paul ("Nice to Meet You")

Clark was last seen in the Players Guild production of The Fantastic Mr. Fox. He earned his bachelor’s degree at Rutgers University, and he has trained at the Esper Studio in New York City. A resident of Palisades Park, he has a “delicious” job at the Cheesecake Factory. Thanks to Angela, cast, and crew for making this experience so pleasant. Also, a big thank you to our audience for your support.
