Welcome to Pointeworks' Inaugural Performance

at the Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center!

Tonight is a celebration of ballet in all its splendor! This is the first season that I have curated as Pointework's Artistic Director, it is my great honor to embark on this exciting journey and share with you all the beauty of ballet!

This season is full of exciting 'firsts' for us: two world premieres, our inaugural performance, and the chance to share the art of ballet with the San Diego community. Tonight we will take you on a whirlwind tour of dance as we embrace what makes this art form so special, collaborations between our artists: composers and choreographers, live music with dance, and the perfect harmony of classical, neo-classical, and contemporary ballet!

Experience the mystical "Floreciente" where Melody Mennite ignites our imaginations, to the playful thrills of Caili Quan's invigorating work "Press Play", to the poetic charm of Heather Nichol's "Meraki", the musical juxtaposition of Reka Gyulai's premiere "Off Beat", all topped off with the classic romance of Nicole Von Enck’s "Familiar Reflections".

Our extraordinary dancers have joined in collaborations with artists across disciplines, and together, we are proud to present the very best in the arts right here in San Diego - and, perhaps, to expand your ideas on what ballet can be.

The future of Pointeworks is bright, and we invite you to return to Pointeworks to be delighted, amazed, surprised by our exceptional company, and to experience dance's powerful ability to connect us to our past, our future, and each other, through this international language of our shared human emotions.
