Haunted Theater - Final Broadcast - October 30

Pope High School

 End Notes

Maxine: Haunted Theater has been one of my favorite parts of high school and I’m so happy I decided to audition my freshman year. When I made the decision to try and direct with Dakota and Sera I was so excited to start a new experience with the show I loved. I was so happy when we got chosen to direct and create this year’s production but due to COVID, our experience in creating this show changed drastically. Initially, the show had been canceled but we decided as a group to continue with our plan as a passion project. We gathered up some of the actors we knew and got to work. It was hard but also a lot of fun! Eventually, Pope Drama reached out and asked us to be official again and of course, we agreed. We put so much time and effort into this show and I’m so happy to see the final product. I just want to say thank you so much to every who’s helped us on this wild journey and I hope you enjoyed the ride just as much as we did!

Dakota: When we initially decided and got selected to direct Haunted Theater I was just happy to be directing a spooky experience with my friends and working with the cast and crew to make it really come to life. While all of that still happened, I was not expecting all that came from the circumstances that surrounded the production. We worked through so much despite our situation, and I’m proud of what we all have been able to achieve. This project has been a part of my life for about a year now and I’m so happy to see it finally finished and to share it with everyone. I’m incredibly proud of the cast and crew and thankful for them as well as everyone else who helped us along the way.

Sera: This year turned out so much different than anyone one of us expected. When we started this project, I was a Stage Manager. Now, I’m the Producer of a short film. Because of this new format, though, the three of us were able to explore the differences between theater and film storytelling. I’m so grateful for the cast and crew that were so willing to join when it started as a passion project between Dakota, Maxine, and me. I’m also so grateful to Pope Theater for reaching out to us after catching wind of our film and helping us get a budget, access to the prop and costume closets, and T-Shirts. All the hours I spent planning rehearsal and film dates, sending out emails, coordinating people, and more have been worth the experiences and joy this project gave me.
