Note from the director

I have never been more scared to death of directing a show than I have with this one. I was constantly bothered by doubts:  Will I be able to build a huge set in the library? Can I find the money for the new lights and the light bar I will need to pull it off? Can I honor these strong women? Can I direct 23 teenage females? Would I survive? And would any one come and watch a show about female suffrage during the Holocaust? After reading the play for the first time I realized I didn’t care about these questions anymore I just wanted to see my vision become a reality.

I could not have done this without a great group of people who took their time to help me during this crazy time. First, I would like to thank the administration for their continued support. I know they think I am a little crazy, but I guess I am their type of crazy. Next, would be the great staff here at Poston. They have been great with my actors and even a few of them were mentors to my girls, which helped me to keep my sanity. I want to thank Selena Fritz for designing and sewing costumes and the parents I brought help on our big sewing day. My booster club has gone above and beyond anything I have ever imagined this year.  Please support them or join the dork side and help the theater. And finally the Stahl’s, Alex and Jason, I don’t think they knew what they were getting into when they offered to be my friend, but thanks for sticking around.

All of this is for one reason, these amazing young women. I could not tell you how much I am in awe of their talent and dedication. I hope they all understand how much I care about them and their future. Being their director has been the most difficult thing and I have never been more blessed because of it. If they do not break your heart during this show then I would check your pulse.
