The Story

Welcome to Almost, Maine, a place that’s so far north, it’s almost not in the United States. It’s almost in Canada. And it’s not quite a town, because its residents never got around to getting organized. So it almost doesn’t exist. One cold, clear, winter night, as the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, the residents of Almost, Maine, find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend—almost—in this delightful midwinter night’s dream.

Characters

Pete- Young and awkward.  He's in love with Ginette, but expresses his affection in an odd way.

Ginette- Young and shy.  She's in love with Pete, but is confused by his reaction to her affections.

Glory- A hiker, camped out in a stranger's yard.  She is not from Almost.

East- A repairman at the local mill.  He is suprised to find a hiker camped out in his yard.

Jimmy- A very lonley man.  He used to be with Sandrine, until she broke up with him.

Sandrine- At her bachelorette party, when she runs into her broken-hearted ex-boyfriend.

Waitress- The friendly server at the local watering hole.  Constantly interupting the awkward conversation between Jimmy and Sandrine.

Steve- A young man who lives with his brother at Ma Dudley's Boarding House.  He suffers from a strange neurological condition.

Marvalyn- A young woman, who also lives at the boarding house.  She encounters Steve while doing her laundry.

Lendall- Late 30's, fell asleep while watching the hockey game when and is awakened by his long-time girlfriend.

Gayle- Late 30's and has been with Lendall for 11 years.  She is frustrated because Lendall has not proposed yet.
