Deena- A "country girl" and best friend to Shelly.  She has just been on the worst date of all time and meets Shelly in a potato field to drown her sorrows.

Shelly- A "country girl" and best friend to Deena.  She has just been on the worst date of all time and meets Deena in a potato field to drown her sorrows.

Phil- Late 30's, married to Marci.  He loves his wife and children, but is he happy?

Marci- Late 30's, married to Phil.  She and her husband have just finished ice skating.  Marci is upset with Phil, but he isn't sure why.

Woman- Used to live in Almost.  Has suddenly returned, late in the evening, to answer a question asked long ago.

Man- Answers a knock at his door to find a talkative woman on his porch.

Rhonda- A woman in Almost who feels at home being "one of the guys".  She's works at the mill with her good pal Dave.

Dave- Rhonda is Dave's close friend, but Dave wants to be...closer.  He presents Rhonda with a gift to try to get through her tough exterior.

Setting

Almost is a fictional town in Maine.  If it were to exist, it would be located in far northern Maine, near the Canadian border, in Aroostook county.  The population of Almost is around 300 people.  Winters are long, cold, and snowy, feeling like they last from October through May. The Northern Lights are a regular occurance in the night sky.

Time

Each scene takes place at the same time- around 8:50-9:00pm on a Friday night.
