Disenchanted! - March 12 - March 14, 2020

Purnell School

  Acknowledgements

The Purnell Production Team would like to recognize the following individuals for their special contributions not only to Project X 2020’s production of Disenchanted!, but also for their years of dedication to Theatre at Purnell School:

Miss Destiny Young

Destiny is a graduating senior and a four-year veteran of Purnell’s Project X productions.  From her breakout role as the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz as a freshman, to singing and dancing through The Addams Family, from the streets of New York as THE Ronnette of Little Shop of Horrors’ girl group, The Ronnettes, to now, her senior year, starring in Disenchanted! as one of the great fairy tale leading ladies of all time, Cinderella, Destiny really has displayed and developed her theatrical chops on the stage of the Carney.  It has been our privilege to watch.

All of her considerable talents aside, Destiny really is the heart of the cast, with her kindness, humor, thoughfulness, and endless positivity.  We all wish Destiny the very best, and we know that she will continue to be a shimmering star as she heads out onto the world's stage.

Miss Grace Quijano

Grace made her production debut as a crow in Purnell’s Wizard of Oz, while understudying as the Good Witch Glinda.  And that, in a snapshot, is Grace. A vibrant and enthusiastic performer, Grace came to Purnell with an extensive performance background already in hand, and has only added to it as a four-year graduating senior, and four-year veteran of Project X Productions.

From her humble avian beginnings, to star turns as Audrey in last year’s Little Shop of Horrors, and now as the inimitable Snow White, the Mistress of Ceremonies of Disenchanted!, Grace has brought boldness, bravado, and her beautiful singing voice to every performance.  There is little doubt that she will continue to inspire as her future unfolds.

Mr. Peter Pastercyzk

Disenchanted! marks Mr. P’s twentieth year helping to make Purnell’s Project X productions come to life.  From his first production of Allison Wonderland in 2000, Mr. P. has built and rebuilt nearly every piece of set and staging that you see and don’t see on the stage, in addition to his other contributions, of which there are many.  Armed with an ample supply of technical skills and sardonic wit, it is hard to imagine a Purnell production without him.  Here's to twenty more years!
