Honk! Jr. - April 12 - April 14, 2013

Queen's Grant Community School

 Who's Who

  • Tiffany Dunagan

A former fifth-grade teacher at Queen's Grant, Mrs. Dunagan had the vision and drive to bring musical theater to the school, and her students will be forever grateful to her for that leadership. "Honk! Jr." is the sixth musical she has directed at Queen's Grant (five middle school productions, plus "101 Dalmatians" on the elementary level). In addition to her leadership in school productions, Mrs. Dunagan takes her students each January to Music Theatre International's Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta, where they engage in acting, singing and dancing workshops, and perform in front of theater industry leaders. Each spring, she also takes them to a condensed version of the festival at the Broadway Junior Celebration, held at the Knight Theater in uptown Charlotte. In 2011, Mrs. Dunagan was honored by iTheatrics as a recipient of the Freddie G Award. She would like to thank all of the parents and students for making the QG productions such an awesome experience each year!

  • Leslie Glosser

A fifth-grade teacher at Queen's Grant, Leslie Glosser develops the singing potential of her students for each spring middle school musical. "Honk! Jr." is her fifth production; previously, she honed student voices as musical director for "Seussical, Jr.," "Annie, Jr.," "Alice in Wonderland, Jr." and "Willy Wonka, Jr." Lending her artistic hand as well as ear, she has painted sets for all previous musicals. Her music background includes years of singing in her high school chorus and college a cappella groups, as well as eight years of marching band (four of them spent conducting). Mrs. Glosser also attends the Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta each year.

    Zach Walker

Zach is a sophomore at Queen's Grant High School. He has participated in the Queen's Grant Community School spring musical productions for the past five years, performing in "Seussical, Jr.," "Annie, Jr." and "Alice in Wonderland, Jr.," and acting as Production Assistant for "Willy Wonka, Jr." before becoming Stage Manager for "Honk! Jr." Zach has also performed in "Babes in Toyland" and "Willy Wonka, Jr." and was on the production crew of "Wind in the Willows" for the Matthews Playhouse. He enjoys working behind the stage as well as performing in front of the curtain, and is looking forward to attending his fifth Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta next year.
